There was an article in the Gospel Herald the other day entitled Transgender Wedding in Cuba Brings 'Wrath of God' Says Christian Leader, about a marriage between a gay man and a transgender woman. The wedding, which took place on Saturday, is the first wedding of its kind in Cuba. Commentators stated " it shows how Cuba’s attitude has changed in recent years towards gays and transsexuals."
I don't understand if she was a post-op transsexual, why the groom is being referred to as gay, but, whatever floats your boat.
THE LGBT community there was celebrating, but conservative Christians states:
“As Christians we believe that this is something that is condemned by God, because the word of God says in the book of Genesis that man and woman were created,” Yuri Castellanos, Cuban pastor of the First Baptist Church of Yaguajay said to The Christian Post.
“What they are gaining is nothing less than the wrath of God,” Castellanos concluded.
Really? The Bible also states that if a wife disobeys her husband she shall be stoned to death; if a son strikes his father he shall be stoned to death. So do we take everything out of context and in its literal text? Which of the verses do you adhere to and which do you not?
Moreover, are these really the words of the creator? Somehow I don't think God is that small-minded and afraid of the unknown.
Come on people, wake up.
