For those that are so closeted that they don't know who Lea T. is, she went from obscurity to celebrity overnight when as an assistant to Riccardo Tisci (the head designer at Givenchy) she was inserted into the fall 2010 catalog photo shoot as an out and open transgender model.
She appeared in countless ads thereafter; had a full nude portrayed in French Vogue; debuted on the catwalk; was interviewed by and has transitioned right before the world's eyes.

It's nothing short of awesome to see Lea T's success. While she's not the first, Carolyn Cossey (Tula) was, the backlash is so much less that it is a clear measuring stick of progress.
